Come and Follow Me

Are you ready for this invitation

Would you imagine the gift inside

Can you fathom emancipation

You’re not worthy and yet you hide

Do you recognize from where the source is

Are you grafted in your foolish pride

Perhaps you failed to believe in what grace gives

Juggling doubts, you just cast aside

We all are born into castigation

Reflection taints the mirrored glance

Reviled, rebuked, the consternation

It’s all a story, we’re in a trance

Do you truly need investigation

Hung on the cross, He truly died

In the balance, appropriation

You’re looking out, not deep inside

You’re slowly sinking in desperation

A point remembered, this one can’t fly

The days are counted, enumeration

Can you surrender or surely die

Why the need for corroboration

Why the feeling to be set free

Who can give you elaboration

Miracles happen but you can’t see

God is calling, no equivocation

Jesus is asking with humble plea

Providential declaration

Come and see, He said, follow me

A sweet advance, a holy proclamation

The Son of God to be glorified

A sanctified amalgamation

To Bring together and not divide

So, be prepared, this transformation

Having faith in Jesus Christ, alone

Born again, a regeneration

Begin to see His light and throne

His holy, righteous justification

The grace of God bestowed on thee

From sin we turn through sanctification

All glory Yours, on bended knee

Who sacrificed for your salvation

In three days risen from the grave

Who’s worthy of all our adoration

From His love, is what He gave

He conquered death, its devastation

He took your loss and all your pain

And once for all with determination

Despatched the serpent, eternal flames
