Acuity

It is better to see than to be seen

Similarly, to listen, than to hear

The meaning lost and split in between

The heart then proclaims it very clear

Adage states, that one might agree

‘Tis better to give than to receive

The gift from above, the will is thus freed

In humility, one trusts and believes

Not all with patience, a glancing smile

The many will boast and also reject

The pitiful journeys and haunting trials

Binding the truth in disrespect

Who visions the majesty imagined

To trade it for money and fame

Founded treasure in field, partitioned

For the glory of Him who came

Who colors the day with its sunlight

But for science, there’s no one to claim

Who gives radiance to darkness by moonlight

From miracles or set in cosmic terrain

Is it just two plus two, mathematics

No Potter to speak and create

A matter of evolutionary tactics

It designed calculation, not fate

With all vast and intricate knowledge

Without wisdom what lessons were gained

Who frees us from folly and bondage

Who makes us see glory through pain

If it were simple and evident

From molecules truth was conceived

That natural selection was meant

To be science and worshipped, perceived

Then, it is better to boast and to toast

To the little gods, given the nod

Who then, to blame, pity the most

To those who love Jesus as God

Acuity is keen in one’s thought

Not sarcasm, lust, greed or wit

Once dead, whatever you brought

Meaningless foibles, worth spit

The legacies, useless, unfounded

Like Towers of Babel, proclaimed

Left your beliefs fully grounded

In trite peccadilloes and shame

The only true thought, bears repeating

The love our God who is King

If in you, place your trust, you are cheating

Your salvation that Christ only brings
